Welcome to our free brain training fitness programme
My name is Dr David Lewis and I will be your personal trainer guiding you through this course in mental enhancement.
In this, the Brain Tuning Programme, you will be giving your brain a good workout with four Modules, each of which will exercise your mental faculties in a different way, helping to build strength, stamina, and agility along the way.
The Modules are: Mind Juggling, Pumping Iron, Memory Jogging and Bending & Stretching. The order in which you work on them depends on the results of your initial Assessment and will have been explained in your introductory letter.
Although each Module focuses on one aspect of thinking better, the benefits they confer will have the effect of increasing all aspects of mental functioning. The original problems, brain teasers and puzzles, which form the core of this workout, were developed in collaboration with my colleagues Darren Bridger and James Greene, a leading American educational psychologist. The strategies you will learn are also unique to this brain training programme and have been developed and refined, by us, over the past two decades. They have been extensively tested in both the UK and USA where significant intellectual gains have been reported in terms of greater speed, flexibility and mental agility, across all age ranges.
We are, therefore, completely confident they will work just as well for you always provided, of course, that you stay with the programme and spend time in mastering these new ways of thinking, reasoning and reflecting.
While the reasons why people decide to begin a brain training programme are many and varied, we generally find that those who have sufficient interest to want to find ways of thinking better are among the most highly motivated and ambitious members of society. As you will shortly discover, your mind possesses a remarkable natural talent for excellence and this potential may be realised by anyone at any age.
Once your brain has been trained to think correctly about any task, confidence remains high and anxiety stays low, while difficulties, confusion and complexities are far more easily resolved.
In some cases people have abandoned youthful ambitions or decided early on they would be unsuccessful before even starting. This is often due to their believing one or more of three crippling, yet widely held myths about their own mental abilities.
Myths which can quickly cripple the intellect and stunt the development of mental skills. On the next few pages I'll run through them briefly so you can decide if such false beliefs have held you back in the past:
